History, Heritage & the Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas

Join us for a special afternoon in historic Georgetown, the county seat of Williamson County and home of the Williamson County Grays.

Our chartered bus will take Reunion attendees from the hotel to Georgetown for an afternoon exploring the stories of Williamson County's Confederate veterans, its historic courthouse and Soldiers and Sailors Monument—and some free time to enjoy one of Texas's most celebrated downtown squares.

Odd Fellows Cemetery

Our first stop will be Georgetown's historic Odd Fellows Cemetery, the final resting place of numerous Civil War veterans and some of Williamson County's notable early citizens.

Among the graves we'll visit are those of John Wesley Snyder, Jabez Brittain, and Emzy Taylor. Through their individual stories, we'll learn about the men who went to war from Williamson County, their service, and the lives they built after returning home.

Historic Williamson County Courthouse

From the cemetery, we'll travel to the heart of downtown Georgetown and the historic Williamson County Courthouse.

We'll tour the courthouse and learn about the building, the people and events that shaped Williamson County, and the role the courthouse square has played in the life of the community for generations.

Williamson County Soldiers and Sailors Monument

Standing prominently on the courthouse grounds is the Williamson County Soldiers and Sailors Monument.

Dedicated in 1916, the monument has stood on the square for more than a century. We'll learn the story behind its creation, the people responsible for erecting it, and the history represented by one of Georgetown's most recognizable landmarks.

After our courthouse and monument tours, the rest of the afternoon is yours.

Stroll the streets surrounding "The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas." Browse Georgetown's shops, explore its historic architecture, stop for a refreshment, or simply enjoy some free time with friends in the heart of downtown.

Back in Time for the Commander's Reception

At the appointed time, our bus will pick us up downtown for the return trip to the Reunion hotel.

We'll have you back in plenty of time to freshen up, enjoy cocktails, and join us for the Commander's Reception.
